Lauren’s passion for the Tasmanian wilderness is immediately evident in her work.  Her botanical illustrations capture both the complexity and beauty of the islands distinctive flora.

Born in Ballarat, Victoria in 1971, she moved to Tasmania  in 1999 where she has since undertaken extensive work with Tasmania’s endangered endemic flora.  In addition she has been engaged in research that explores Tasmania’s rich botanical history.

Lauren’s work has appeared in various group and solo exhibitions, where it has received praise from both the scientific and artistic communities as outstanding examples of botanical art.

She has also developed a course in teaching the art of botanical illustration and currently teaches private classes in Hobart, Tasmania.

Commission: 'Southern Ice Porcelain' a collaboration with Les Blakebrough – Master Potter. Six botanical watercolours of plants endemic to Tasmania. The images are transferred to Southern Ice Porcelain plates and released as limited edition collectors plates – Flora Tasmanica.
